Ice cream formulation
The balancing tools you'll actually run into searching in English.
Dough and pizza
The highest-volume searches in this whole space — and an honest look at where they beat us.
Pastry and bakery
Costing, the baker's percentage and what happens when one tool has to cover several crafts.
And the competitor almost nobody names
The tool this entire market really competes with isn't a program: it's a spreadsheet.
How we make these comparisons
- Source and date on every figure. Everything we say about another tool comes from its official site, with the date we checked it written on the page.
- No invented numbers. If a price or a feature isn't public, the cell says "not published" — which means "we have no record of it", not "it doesn't exist".
- We say when we lose. Every comparison has a "to be fair" section explaining the cases where the other tool is the better choice.
- Net and gross aren't comparable. Where their price excludes VAT and ours includes it, we say so: conflating the two is exactly what comparative advertising law prohibits.
- No borrowed screenshots, no sniping. We compare verifiable features, not other people's work.
- We keep them current. If a figure changes or you think we've got it wrong, write to hola@formulamaps.com and we'll fix it.
Frequently asked questions
Are these comparisons objective?
We don't claim to be neutral: we sell software and you're on our site. What we do guarantee is verifiability — every figure carries the site it came from and the date we read it, so you can check all of it yourself. And every page has a "to be fair" section naming the cases where the other tool is the better choice. Sales material doesn't do that.
What does FormulaMaps cost?
€69 a year, VAT included, for all five crafts — ice cream, pastry, bakery, turrón and cacao — and €49 a year in Latin America. Getting started is free: 3 formulas kept for life, and a calculator that's open with no sign-up and no card.
What if a figure is wrong?
Write to hola@formulamaps.com. That goes for the vendors we compare, too: we correct it and we date the correction. We'd rather have an accurate page than a flattering one.
The comparison that actually counts: yours
Put the same recipe in here and in the tool you're evaluating, then compare PAC, POD and total solids. Our calculator is public and asks for no sign-up — you don't have to take our word for anything.
